Day to day, week to week-
How do we make do?
The checks are too small,
And the bills are overdue.
There's money in my pocket,
But its not mine to spend.
I owe money to everyone,
And no one's willing to lend.
I go to work every day
And try to get ahead,
But the money goes so fast,
That payday is a day I dread.
What's the big secret?
Someone, let me know.
How do I pay the bills
And still have money to blow?
Maybe someday I will have
All the money I need,
But until that day arrives,
With the bill collectors I'll plead.
