Changes

The beginning of a chapter,
The start of a season-
Everything begins somewhere;
Things happen for a reason.

Tomorrow I will be twenty,
The start of a new decade for me.
I have so much to look forward to
And so much left to do and see.

I will no longer be a teenager,
But will be considered "grown up."
It doesn't seem all that long ago
I was learning how to wear makeup!

Will I be more mature?
Sometimes I know I need to be.
Will I be little wiser?
I'll just have to wait and see.

I am a little bit nervous;
But I'm not exactly sure why.
I know something is about to end,
But part of me hopes its a lie.

The close of a chapter,
The end of a season-
Everything has its time;
Things change for a reason.
